Looking for a subject ot two for the spring themed RWS Exhibtion I was struck by this in the garden: a cornus just coming into leaf where the vivid red stems contrast to the leaf green. There is a very shallow pictorial depth but it is really almost flat. The colour is the subject and the pattern
